CLOSER TO THE HORIZON

We let the BMW M6 run free in remote deserts, winding through rock formations and performing against the elements on the road to Utah’s exclusive Amangiri Resort.

Behind the wheel of my Black Sapphire Metallic BMW M6, I drove my companions along winding roads, passing open fields covered with scrub and sagebrush, and stopping only when we arrived at a gate with an intercom. It was like a secret door to a private club – but this was in the middle of the desert.

Continuing on, I wove the BMW M6 through tall rock formations, enjoying the car’s refined handling and linear power band. Canyons, seen from afar, looked as stark as the mesas and buttes in the distance. But as we approached, we could see that the stone was all curves and rounded edges, with swirling layers of gray and cream.

Lowering the windows to allow some fresh air in, I could hear the engine growl echoing off the rock walls as I sped through the desert. With no street lamps or road signs, on this dusky evening I felt a sense of freedom to enjoy the drive without any distractions.

“The BMW M6 Coupe allows you to bring yourself closer to the open horizon at an unrivaled pace.”

The BMW M6 offers a balance of refined power and luxury that begs to be let free. Offering adept, effortlessly smooth movement across even the most challenging driving planes, the stark remote landscapes of Utah’s remote desert roads served as a testing ground confirming one thing, the BMW M6 has nothing more to prove.

Winding roads curve around the rock formations to the resort, hidden away from the road in the desert.

2016 BMW M6 Coupe
Continuing the tradition of BMW M, the new 2016 BMW M6 Coupe comes well prepared for both touring and track duties. Outside, it makes its presence known with Adaptive LED Headlights, an M-specific double-spoke black kidney grille, muscular contours, and an eye-catching front apron with large air intakes. M-specific gills, a carbon-fiber roof that lowers the center of gravity, and signature twin quad M tailpipes further reflect its motorsport heritage. Inside, the driving spirit is comforted by 20-way power front M Multi-contour seats upholstered in Extended Merino Leather and distinctive M instrumentation. The Active M Differential and optional Competition Package keep everything under control; and with BMW’s TwinPower Turbo V-8 pushing out 560 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque through a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic, the BMW M6 Coupe allows you to bring yourself closer to the open horizon at an unrivaled pace.
